Grief Attacks

My Son's Funeral 10 months & 19 days since you passed into eternal life on October 15, 2015. I have learned that it is God's desire to gather together all of the suffering from grieving hearts and use it as a force for good. Here is a way that God has taught me to allow Him to use these "Grief Attacks" for a higher purpose and to make our loved one who has passed away happy that something good can come from our suffering. From a previous post: To me a wave of grief can wash over me like a tidal wave and it can literally feel like I am drowning in the Dead Sea if I don't know what to do with it. When I offer each wave of grief, as it comes, to the Lord as a sacrifice, He pulls me out of the D

Divine Mercy After Suicide

She struggled in life. She committed suicide. But there’s still hope! Every one of us has known someone who took his or her own life, or someone whose life was affected by the suicide of a loved one. It’s so difficult to face this reality, and often people despair. Many give up hope for those who have committed suicide and believe their souls are lost. But now I never give up. Instead, I pray. Let me tell you why: I’m an engineer by degree. I got my MBA from the University of Michigan and worked as an engineering manager in the tough auto industry of Detroit. I made great money, enjoyed the work, and loved the area. On paper, God had given me everything a young man could desire; yet, it se

Use Sacrifice Beads & Suffering to Help Your Loved Ones

After Brett passed away, it seemed to me that God was giving me signs that he was saved (for which I am so grateful). I asked a priest, whom I knew was faithful to the Magisterium of the Church, if I could count on this. His answer I have never forgotten. It has helped me in so many ways even though it was difficult to hear at first! He said that yes, God could have let me know this (and he believed it was true) but that this would be considered "Private Revelation" which is always subject to human misinterpretation and even deception from the evil one so I should not share this with others as if it is Gospel Truth. He went on to say that the danger is that this type of private revelation c

Green & Super-Green Remedies for Suffering and Grief

God's natural & supernatural gifts to the bereaved and suffering. God has provided so many gifts for us to help us as we navigate this journey through grief and suffering. Some of them occur naturally (green) and some of them are given to us supernaturally (super-green). I do believe that the super-green gifts are the most important. They enable the green gifts to work more effectively. The green gifts alone might not be sufficient to provide the healing and peace that we need. Before you read these potential remedies, be wary of a misplaced sense of guilt. Many people feel guilty if they experience any type of relief from sadness or any feeling of happiness or even joy after a person they l

Taking on the Strong Man through Redemptive Suffering

How can anyone enter a strong man’s house and steal his property, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house (Matthew 12:29). Then He [Jesus] told them, “No one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house” (Mark 3:27). Jesus refers to Satan as the “strong man” and to Himself as the One who enters the house and plunders the place. Of course, before Satan allows his domain to be “plundered,” he must be incapacitated. Jesus was not in league with Satan, as the scribes suggested, but had come to the earth, to what is essentially Satan’s “house” because he is the prince of this world (1 John 5:19), in order to bi
